Vatanajyankur is reframing the way craft and fabrics-based production has historically been associated with women's domesticity and consider a lesser form of the creativity than the 'fine arts'. By placing herself at the intersection of these two creative traditions, and making visible the invisible work of household chores, she offers a contemporary approach to mixing high and low brow influences, and to the legacy of feminism. (Text by Josephine Skinner)
