This exhibition centers on the lived experiences of Taiwanese women aged between 60 and 70, drawing from extensive field research to uncover personal narratives shaped by shifting socio-economic landscapes. At its core is the fictional character Michelle Chen—not a singular figure, but a composite portrait intricately woven from the voices and memories of multiple women.Through this constructed persona, the exhibition examines how historical and economic transformations have influenced identity, resilience, and personal agency. Accompanying the installation are a series of evocative flash fiction pieces by novelist Brian Kao, serving as a curatorial framework that bridges fiction and lived experience. Together, the works invite reflection on the intersection of memory, myth, and the socio-political forces that shape the everyday lives of women in contemporary Taiwan.
